Leadership development strategy refers to an explicit strategy for enhancing the understanding and practice of leadership within an organisation.

Independent research conducted by CCL shows that organisations see investing in leadership development as the preferred way of building an organisations capacity to meet the challenges that lay before it. Yet, less than 15% of what is learnt within traditional event and academic style leadership results in sustained changes in leadership behaviours within the workplace.
