Leadership Development Strategy
Leadership Development Strategy
Leadership development strategy refers to an explicit strategy for enhancing the understanding and practice of leadership within an organisation.
Independent research conducted by CCL shows that organisations see investing in leadership development as the preferred way of building an organisations capacity to meet the challenges that lay before it. Yet, less than 15% of what is learnt within traditional event and academic style leadership results in sustained changes in leadership behaviours within the workplace. Far from being systematic, leadership development in many organisations is haphazard and poorly designed – the ready, fire, aim approach. Whether with a small group of leaders within a single organisational unit, or a cohort of leaders across a large organisation, the Australian Leadership Development Centre can partner with you to develop an effective and integrated leadership development strategy that maximises your return on investment.
Whilst leadership can be developed, many people underestimate what is truly required. Leadership development requires focus, practice and persistence that is more akin to learning a musical instrument than reading a book. To have impact, leadership development needs to go beyond enhancing knowledge and lead to changes in leadership behaviour. There is a Buddhist saying that sums up our view of successful leadership development:
“ To know and not to do is not to know at all ”
We draw on international best-practices in leadership and adult learning to maximise your success in making desired behavioural changes, within your workplace.
A good way to start is to book a leadership development strategy planning interview. At a pre-arranged time, one of our senior consultants interviews you to discuss your needs, objectives and circumstances. We then compile a leadership development strategy plan that draws on our extensive understanding of the leadership development field whilst also being responsive to your circumstances. This strategy is not dependent on the ALDC to be executed. Whilst we would be delighted to provide any of the services outlined in your plan, you can choose to action them through a range of both external and internal providers.
Plans for a small group of leaders (<10) within a single organisational unit start at just $490. Quotes are available for larger groups upon request.
